Visual perception refers to  the ability to interpret the surrounding environment by processing information that is contained in visible light. The resulting perception is also known as eyesight, sight, or vision. 

We  use our sight or our Visual Perception to make sense of our enviornment. There are many children who have difficulites and struggle with visual perception and, have difficulities making sense of the world around them.  A child may have trouble disriminating between specific numbers , letters, finding matching socks in a drawer. 

Locating objects in a scene works on the skill of visual discrimination.
