I personally do not have a daughter. However, I have heard from many parents who have a daughter with Autism, or other special needs, there is not alot of materials for specifically for girls with autism or special needs.

I created this free social story, " I Have My Period" to help explain a period, when it happens and how to put on a pad.

This story can be used in conjunction with other aba therapy, or in a heath education class as a adapted resource. It can be used as part of a school education program.

The resource can be laminated for longevity and used in the classroom or at home to help your child learn an essential life skill.

My 9 year old daughter has autism and precocious puberty. She began her period much sooner than even her doctor predicted, and we scrambled to find social stories and resources to help her understand. The story we downloaded was a great help to her. We read and reviewed it and even sent a copy to school for her intervention specialist. This was so helpful!

I used this to introduce my 10year old daughter to the idea that she may be betting her period soon. I love that it has very descriptive pictures and short easy to understand sentences. I am positive my child will know what to do when she goes get her period. Thank you for creating this and for providing it for free. God bless you!
