For most parents with children on the Autism Spectrum meal time can be a significant challenge. Many of our children have taste sensitivities. A healthy diet is important for a healthy child and eventually leading to a healthy lifestyle into adulthood.
I have written many blogs on this issue.
Why We Have To Teach Good Eating Habits To Your Child With Autism And Research Tips:
The Picky Eater: Autism And Food
Use the social story to visually demonstrate the importance of trying new foods. My own son, Niam, ate only five foods for many years, and I have counted I have made 3000 grilled cheese sandwiches in my life. I watched my son gain weight as he aged into his teenage years. Please read our very important blogs on the issue of autism healthy and taste sensitivities.
Hope this books helps you.

I used this for a small class lesson. It was at the perfect level for those students.
Well written. Exactly what I was looking for.
Excellent social story for a young autistic man who is struggling with his diet and trying new food
The clip-art is not very clear. The content is amazing though! Would rate 5 stars, I just feel the clip-art on the pages needs to be more clear and better quality.
Besides that,
I LOVED READING THIS WITH MY STUDENT WITH AUTISM who is having a hard time with trying new foods. He learned so much and I love the text content. I love how perfect it was for him to understand as a GT student with Autism (not too simple/not to difficult) , just right :) . Love this!! Would love to look for more of this type of social stories!!
I have collected a number of these resources from your site : Able2 Learn. These are my "go-to" materials for our Self-Contained classroom. Thank-You!!
