Free Social Story When Can I Touch Myself ( Boys Version( : This Package Includes : 13 pages
Puberty can be a difficult time for teens and parents. Parents find the time challenging as they have to explain the changes that are taking place, appropriate social skills and, help the teen cope with changes happening in their body. As part of my puberty section, I am trying to break down some of the issues that are relevant to teens with Autism and developmental disabilities.
We had to explain to my own son and my brother Niam, when it was appropriate ( private places ) and inappropriate ( public places) to touch themselves. We found ourselves often prompting Niam verbally and reinforcing when he forgot. We wrote this social story for him, but would like to share it with all of you. We chose the bedroom as a private place rather than a bathroom, as bathroom can be found at friends homes, restaurants , shopping centres. This is something important to keep in mind when teaching what rooms are private.
Hope this books helps you.

A family of a student in my class asked for information on explaining this to their son. After doing some research, I came across your products. It was just the right amount of information at the right level of understanding for my 4th grade student with Autism.
Both the family and I are very greatful.

Fantastic book. Covered everything we needed. Many thanks to the author.
Brilliant - exceeded expectations
I like how it is uses simple language, that is easy to understand
I like how this story is simple and easy to read, but the subject isn't portrayed as too childish.
Excellent social story for the male learner beginning to experience puberty. The story is specific, but not graphic, and provides a clear message about what is socially expected behavior.
