The story also hits on the topic of germs, If I don't wash my hands I can get sick.

If you are teaching toileting, or eating at a table you can pair this book with a specific program. This is a great book to reinforce and summarize all the learnings. Sometimes we have to tie in the information for our children, to make those small connections that can otherwise be difficult.
