A child may not know what to expect, it is a change from their normal routine and, they may not be familiar with the doctor or staff. The social story can be read to your child in advance. You can role play and practice different situations. Bring the social story with you on your next visit to the eye doctor and, have your child follow the steps. Hope this helps.
